Playing Sidney Prescott, she was able to portray a tough-as-nails young woman who would stop at nothing to catch her stalker and do what is right. After all four films were released, Campbell declined to reprise the character for another sequel, choosing instead to focus on her other acting endeavors.

9: Betsy Palmer

7: Heather Langenkamp

Langenkamp played Nancy Thompson in “A Nightmare on Elm Street” and reprised the role in three sequels. She has since retired from acting to spend time with her family, but did voiceover work for Wes Craven’s “Red Eye”.
