Located at the Harkins Scottsdale 101 in Scottsdale, Arizona this is the 13th annual event.  Over 175 films are screened over 8 days and it’s the largest film festival in Arizona. In addition to film screenings there are parties and filmmaking seminars. 25,000 attendees are expected this year.

Monte Yazzi started out as a spectator at the first festival and has been the festival director for the last three years.  His vision is to create a community for like minded individuals to share in a true cinematic experience

The festival started in downtown Phoenix and then moved to the Madcap theater in Tempe, then Chandler and then back to Madcap before ending up in the Scottsdale Cine Capri.  Originally the festival was in October but moved to April because of all the Halloween competition.

Opening night is April 6 and runs until April 13 offering fans the opportunity to see 60 Horror features, 60 Science Fiction features and 120 short films.  Saturday and Sunday are the dates of the educational lectures in the party pavilion by the directors of the films being shown. There are three types of passes:

1st – Platinum and VIP Pass

2nd – Festival Pass

3rd – Flex Pass and Individual Screenings

(Flex Pass  -includes four Individual Screening tickets to any four films excluding the Opening Night)
